| grrr... i hate being the peon. in other news, about 20 little bugs died on my windshield on the way to work today. mmm.... yummy. | | |
| Hmm... I watched the final NANA ep yesterday morning. I was pretty sad that it was over. I'm sure I'll be buying the manga for a while. I think the series did a good developing the two main characters - the two NANA's. I'm not that into music, but I've gotten really attached to the op/eds. A few days ago, I received my pre-ordered compilation - NANA BEST. Sigh... I've been meaning to try translating some of them, but I just haven't had the time. I stayed up last night and tried one... bleh, even if the translation isn't quite there, the original lyrics should be correct (since i copied them straight from the included booklet).
I put it up on my little space on the web - http://www.asobibox.com/NANA_BEST_LUCY.html
For now, it's all static... but eventually I'll add some dynamic components... I hope.
hmm... i probably should have spent some time going through gre practice problems.... eh... oh well, who needs grad school...

| so i've been pretty wishy washy about my job ever since coming to work as a contractor for ibm... but my next project seems like all the pain will have been worth it. it's called TALES (Translingual Automatic Language Exploitation System). weird name yeah... but it sounds exactly like automated fansubbing to me. pretty cool stuff... i'm excited about possibly contributing to it. for anyone who's interested, here's a general description of the project and a news article from last year. | | |
| hehe... i had to post this one... it kinda makes me realize why it's been so tough for me all these years... http://www.phdcomics.com/blog_images/ng_singles.jpg all the big red blips are are where i've lived during most of my adult life - dc metropolitan area
- the ny/ct/nj tri-state area
- boston
---EDIT: hmm... in case he reads this... there is a certain someone in my life now. so somehow, despite the odds against me, i'm doing okay now. heh... ^^; (fingers crossed) ---EDIT II: and thanks goes to a certain ozyx for showing me this. haha... funny stuff. | | |
| dr. rin ep 7 was my third translation attempt. i translated it back in feb. 2004, when i was unemployed and frustrated with the job market. it was finally released the other day (with more than a few fixes from dragosmore) bringing my total number of released episode translations to 24! and i got an email today from someone named WillowD with Live-eviL. they're looking for a translator to continue with the series... hmm... dr. rin isn't insanely funny like ouran, or really cool like nana... but i still like it, and wouldn't mind translating stuff again... hopefully things will work out. anyway, here's the screenshot:
